A Mastic woman has been charged with animal cruelty for the second time in three months, officials said Tuesday.
A detective from the Suffolk County SPCA responded to a complaint and found six cats Monday living in unsanitary conditions in the Midland Avenue home of Donna Spall, 45, the agency said.
One of the cats required veterinary care, SPCA Chief Roy Gross said.
Spall was charged with a misdemeanor and ordered to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on Aug. 22, Gross said.
He said Spall also has a court date on July 20 to respond to similar charges after the agency found 43 cats in her home in March.
Those cats were put up for adoption after treatment, and the six cats found Monday were newly acquired by Spall, Gross said.
