Staples worker stole $8,000 in cash from store, police say

A worker at an office supply chain store was arrested Tuesday morning after he stole about $8,000 from his employer, police said.

From May 10 to May 30, Mark Cashman, 48, of Massapequa Park, took “full cash deposit bags” from the Staples where he worked, at 1410 Northern Blvd., Manhasset, Nassau County police said.

He is charged with grand larceny in the third degree, police said.

At arraignment Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead, Cashman was conditionally released to the probation department. He is scheduled to return to court July 27.
