New York State Police arrested a Long Island man early Saturday after a 30-mile chase through Albany County, authorities said.
Dominique Davidson was arrested in Schenectady on multiple charges including felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful fleeing from a police officer, resisting arrest and felony tampering with physical evidence, police said.
Records show Davidson, 31, lives in Brentwood and has a lengthy criminal record since 2005, including multiple prison sentences for drug charges and attempted robbery.
State Police stopped Davidson overnight Friday on the New York State Thruway in the Town of Coeymans for a traffic violation.
Davidson sped away during the traffic stop and led police on a high-speed chase upstate to Michigan Avenue in Schenectady, after he attempted to throw evidence out the window during the chase, police said.
He was booked at the Albany County Jail and arraigned in Coeymans Court. A judge ordered he be held without bail.
