Search warrants executed at four locations in Suffolk County resulted in the arrest of five men on narcotics charges and the seizure of cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia, police said Friday.
All the search warrants were obtained following tips to a month-old hotline, 631-852-6272, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini said at a news conference.
The commissioner said the hotline had received 246 calls since it began operating at the beginning of this month. He said the tips resulted in 67 search warrants being executed, the arrest of 149 people, and the seizure of drugs and dozens of weapons.
The latest warrants were executed Thursday and Friday in Huntington Station, Bellport and West Babylon, he said.
Israel Perez, 23, and his brother, Gilmar Perez, 24, were arrested at 194 W. 21st St. in Huntington Station, where police seized 110 grams of cocaine and $3,500 in cash, Sini said.
A search warrant executed at 58½ Lowndes Ave. in Huntington Station turned up 3 grams of cocaine and $139 in cash and resulted in the arrest of Ivan Oscar Martinez, 34, who lived at that address, Sini said.
At 923 Michigan Ave. in Bellport, police found 3 grams of cocaine, $134 in cash and two scales, Sini said, and occupant Greg Jackson, 29, was arrested.
A warrant executed at 709 Herzel Blvd. in West Babylon resulted in the seizure of 90 grams of cocaine, a scale and $235 in cash, and the arrest of Benjamin Lugo, 30, who lived there.
The men faced a variety of narcotics charges and were awaiting arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip.
