Cops: Man posed as passenger, tried to board plane at Republic

A man was arrested Monday after posing as a passenger and attempting to board a plane Sunday at Republic Airport in East Farmingdale, Suffolk County police said.
Eladio Gonzalez, 44, who is homeless, was arrested at 3:40 p.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the third degree, police said.
Police said officers had gone to the airport at 6:10 p.m. Sunday in response to a report of man trying to board a plane, but did not find him at that time.
Police did not say what led them to Gonzalez nor where they arrested him.
