It could be one heck of a hangover for two women suspected of stealing alcohol from a Shirley liquor store in December after police released surveillance video of the pair.

Suffolk County police are asking the public’s help identifying the suspects.

The theft occurred at Ace Liquor, on Montauk Highway, at about 6 p.m. Dec. 12, police said.

The 25-second video shows a male store employee leaning against shopping carts just inside the front door to the store, watching as two women — one dressed in a gray shirt and carrying a large orange bag; the other, shorter, wearing a white T-shirt and red or maroon pants — head for the exit. The first woman appears to be attempting to cover the top of the bag with her arm; the second woman is carrying a big bottle of alcohol.

A female employee, behind the store counter, points to the women, calling to the male employee.

The first woman walks past the male employee and is almost out the door when he grabs her bag and the two begin to tussle in the doorway. The second woman, still holding a bottle of alcohol, joins in, trying to help her friend grab the bag from the male employee.

Soon, the two women break free, chased to the door by the male and female employee; the video shows the male employee re-entering with the woman’s orange bag still in hand.

Moments later the video shows the second woman re-enter the store, a male dressed in a long-sleeved black hoodie entering behind her. As the female employee is seen making a phone call, the second woman grabs two bottles of alcohol from a shelf near the door. A bottle gets knocked to the floor during the grab; the two then flee.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest. Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will remain confidential.
