A third suspect has been arrested and charged in a burglary and assault that took place at a home on Lakeview Road in Bellmore back in November, police said Thursday.
Jake Lucas, 21, of 72 Grohmans Lane, Plainview, was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault. He faces arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead, Nassau County police said.
The incident took place on Nov. 26 at about 6:15 p.m.
Police said it was then that Lucas, Lauren Morales, Nicholas Laurenti and another suspect who is still at large entered the garage of a home on Lakeview Road, where two teens, ages 17 and 19, were playing video games.
The suspects then punched, hit and kicked the victims, even using an aluminum bat, before fleeing the scene, police said. The victims, both male, refused medical attention. It was not clear if anything was taken in the incident.
Police said Morales, 28, of Smith Street, Hicksville, was arrested on Nov. 28 at 8:50 p.m. Laurenti, 20, who also lives at the Smith Street address, surrendered to police at the Seventh Precinct in Seaford on Nov. 29 at 12:02 a.m., police said.
Both cases are pending.
