Two armed men rob Elmont deli

Two men walked into a deli in Elmont Thursday, flashed handguns, demanded money, forced victims inside the store to the basement - then fled with money from the cash register, police said.

Now Nassau County police are looking for the two men, both in their 20s, who robbed the Vero and Vero Mexican Deli on Savoy Avenue at 8:40 p.m. Thursday. Police said the men removed money from the cash register and took one victim's wallet and cell phone.

Police did not say how many people were in the store at the time or how much money was stolen.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
