Astoria Federal Savings bank in Coram robbed, police say

Police are looking for a man who robbed a Coram bank on Middle Country Road on Friday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

The robber entered the Astoria Federal Savings bank at 2:15 p.m. and demanded cash from a teller, police said. The bandit took off with the money, going west from the bank on foot.

The robber was described as unshaven, in his mid-30s and about 5-foot-8 with broad shoulders. He was wearing a tan fedora with a brown band on it, a green bandanna, sunglasses, a tan T-shirt, and blue jeans.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.
