Wanted: Wedding ring theft; Macy's robbery

Nassau police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for two men wanted for robbing a woman outside her Great Neck home.

Police said that at about 1 p.m. on April 8, the woman had just returned to her Norfolk Road home after shopping at Stop and Shop on Northern Boulevard in Little Neck, when two men approached her. One man grabbed her while the other ordered her to give him her wedding ring.

The ring is described as three carat, square-cut with one triangular stone on either side of the larger diamond.

Crime Stoppers asks anyone who has any information about the crime to call the confidential hotline at 800-244-8477.


Suffolk police are looking for two men involved in a robbery at a Smith Haven Mall store in Lake Grove.

Police say that about 9:40 a.m. on Jan. 26, the two men stole about $100 worth of clothing from Macy's department store.

A security guard who approached them as they were leaving the store was punched by one of the two men. police said, and outside the store, the second man pulled a knife on the guard.

The two men left in a blue BMW driven by another person.
