West Sayville gas station robbed at gunpoint, Suffolk cops say

Suffolk County police are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station in West Sayville Friday night, authorities said.

There were no reports of injuries.

Assistant Police Commissioner Justin Meyers said in an emailed statement that the robbery happened at about 10:20 p.m. at a Valero on Montauk Highway.

Meyers said a man, armed with a handgun, demanded money from a gas station employee and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No further details were provided by Meyers.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Suffolk County police at 800-220-8477.
