Nassau County police are seeking the public’s help in gathering information about a bank robbery Friday in Woodbury.
There were three employees and no customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery, and no injuries were reported, police said.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, a male subject entered a Capital One Bank on Jericho Turnpike at about 5:35 p.m. and began yelling for the tellers to open the door to the teller station.
Police said the robber “vaulted over the teller station,” ordered the tellers to open their cash drawers, and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing south on foot.
The robber simulated carrying a handgun inside a plastic bag during the robbery, police said.
The suspect is described as 25 to 30 years old, between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot with an average build. He was wearing a red, white and blue bandanna covering his face, a gray hooded sweatshirt, bluejeans, gloves and boots.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All callers will remain anonymous.
