2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Amagansett School.

The district proposes a budget of $10,678,819 for 2017-18, a 1.96 percent increase from the current $10,473,428. The tax levy would increase 2.27 percent, from $9,092,446 to $9,299,086.

This increase is within the district’s tax-cap limit of 2.33 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget.

School taxes on the average single-family home would increase by an estimated 1.28 percent, from $1,798 to $1,821.

The proposed budget includes an average 3.5 percent step increase for teachers. It also includes 1.6 fewer teachers and staff members. No programs will be cut or added.

A proposition asks voters to approve using $400,000 from the 2015 Renovations and Upgrades Capital Reserve Fund to purchase and install a new gymnasium ceiling at the Amagansett School.

Incumbents Patrick Bistrian III and Dawn Rana-Brophy and candidate Anna Bernasek are running for three at-large seats. The two highest vote-getters receive three-year terms, while the third highest vote-getter receives a one-year term to fill the remainder of the term left from a resignation.
