Gregory Gerkens, an assistant principal who works for Eastern Suffolk BOCES, is scheduled to appear in Suffolk County Court in Central Islip on Friday to answer to charges he assaulted his wife.

Court records show Gerkens, 35, will appear before Judge Andrew Crecca. He was arrested Nov. 18 following an incident at the Holbrook home he shared with his wife.

Gerkens is charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury. A woman who answered the phone at Gerkens’ home identified herself as his mother and said he was unavailable to comment.

A public relations spokeswoman for Eastern Suffolk BOCES, Fran Knodel, did not immediately return a request for comment Sunday.
