SPENDING $208,630,247, a 2.39 percent increase from the current $203,754,394.
TAX LEVY 2.14 percent increase, from $136,451,355 to $139,366,431. This is equal to the district’s 2.14 percent tax-cap limit, so a simple majority vote is required for approval.
TEACHER PAY / PROGRAMS Includes an average 1.1 percent contractual increase and an average step increase of 2 percent. Adds health, physical education, special education, part-time speech and part-time psychologist positions at the elementary school level; six special education positions and a world languages position at the secondary school level; and six teaching assistants. The proposed budget provides funding for introduction of a mental health curriculum and lengthening of physical education classes at the elementary level, and expansion of the co-teaching model at the secondary level.
Proposition 2 authorizes the district to spend $400,000 from a capital reserve fund to perform electrical upgrades in district buildings and to install security glass film at building entrances. Approval of the proposition will not affect the tax levy.
