7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday at School #5, School #6, School #8 and Oceanside High School.

The district proposes a $150,144,641 budget for 2017-18, a 1.97 percent increase from the current $147,241,588. The tax levy would increase 2.15 percent, from $117,147,135 to $119,670,036.

This increase is equal to the district’s tax-cap limit, so a simple majority will be required to approve the budget.

The district said the dollar amount of the school taxes paid on the average single-family house under the proposed budget could not be provided because final assessment figures are not available from Nassau County.

The proposed budget includes an average 0.5 percent salary increase and 1.25 percent step increase for teachers. A business educator position would be added at Oceanside High School.

Incumbents Donald Maresca, Mary Jane McGrath-Mulhern and Sandie (Alexandra) Schoell are running unopposed for three by-seat positions. Terms are three years.
