The district proposes a $29,440,000 budget for 2017-18, a 1.49 percent increase from the current $29,008,500. The tax levy would rise by 1.52 percent, from $25,604,343 to $25,994,058.

This increase is below the district’s tax-cap limit of 1.6 percent, so a simple majority will be required to approve the budget. School taxes on the average single-family home would rise 1.53 percent, from $5,427 to $5,510.

The proposed budget includes an actual contract increase of 0.75 percent and a step increase of approximately 2 percent for teachers. It also includes the reduction of one business teacher.
