A Massapequa student has sold the most Girl Scout cookies in Nassau County for the fourth consecutive year.

Isabella Inzinna, a seventh-grader at Alfred G. Berner Middle School, sold 5,527 boxes of cookies this year. She sold 5,312 boxes in 2016, 4,059 boxes in 2015 and 3,251 boxes in 2014.

She also sold 2,402 boxes in 2013, nine boxes short of being the top seller in Nassau that year, and 1,000 boxes in 2012 to place in the top 10 countywide.

“I’m a little shocked because I wasn’t at the numbers I was expecting this year, but we caught up,” said Isabella, 12, noting that her strategy includes reaching out to “old customers who have become like friends.”

Her achievements include earning a Girl Scouts’ Bronze Award for helping provide backpacks and Easter baskets for children in need through the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.

“I like the community service opportunities and council programs,” Isabella said of the Girl Scouts. “There’s stuff they offer that I never would’ve done without them.”

At Berner, Isabella is her class treasurer and recently appeared in a performance of the musical “Hairspray.” She is in the youth group at St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic Church in Seaford and works with GirlSpeak, a leadership development and empowerment program for adolescent girls.
