Annual Empire Passes can be purchased at discounted rates until March 31, according to the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
The pass is valid through Dec. 31 and includes unlimited daily access to more than 250 state parks, historic sites, arboretums, trails and boat launches across the state.
The pass is now a wallet-sized card that can be shared by members of a household, including caregivers, and can be purchased for $65, the state park’s website stated. The price rises to $80 on April 1. Passes can be purchased online or in person at state parks or state park regional offices.
Passes were previously a window decal that had to be affixed to a vehicle.
Discounts are not available for the $205 three-year pass, the $320 five-year pass, and the $750 lifetime pass, the website stated.
