Faces of Sandy: Charles Mohr

advertisement | advertise on newsday

Charles Mohr, 31, of East Rockaway, lived out of his boat for several weeks while he patrolled his neighborhood in the wake of Sandy. He now splits his time between Pennsylvania, where he's relocated his family, and East Rockaway, where his boat is docked, as he decides what to do with his destroyed home. Mohr said Sandy changed his life, giving him a new sense of freedom, and prompting him to slow down to appreciate it more. Videojournalist: Tara Conry (Sept. 28, 2013)
