Faces of Sandy: Rabbi Shalom M. Paltiel

Although superstorm Sandy caused more than $750,000 of damage to the Chabad of Port Washington, Rabbi Shalom M. Paltiel, 46, prefers to look at the positive effects of the storm. He said the disaster brought the entire community, "both Jew and gentile," together and now that the repairs to the 35,000 sq. ft. building are complete, the chabad looks better than it ever. He's particularly pleased with the new basketball gym, which he said serves more than 1,000 young people and adults of the community. Videojournalist: Tara Conry (Oct. 10, 2013)
