Reports from county or village police, March 14-20


Two registers and two cash boxes were discovered stolen from A Touch of Italy on Grand Avenue March 16.

A 2008 Nissan Maxima was stolen from the driveway of a Marilyn Lane residence March 20.


Jewelry was stolen from a Sterling Road residence March 18.

Franklin Square

A 2008 Mercedes-Benz was discovered stolen from the Boulder Creek parking lot on Hempstead Turnpike on March 15.

Six tires were discovered slashed on a 2000 Ford dump truck parked on Fairway Road March 15. The damage was estimated at $3,000.

A laptop computer was discovered stolen from a vehicle parked on Garden City Road on March 17.

A stereo system was discovered stolen from a vehicle parked on Lincoln Place March 17.


A computer and iPod were stolen from a Cumberland Avenue residence March 14.

A desktop computer and flat-screen TV were discovered stolen from Nassau Auto Sales on Nassau Road March 14.

Money was discovered stolen from Stop and Go on Babylon Turnpike March 15. Entry was made through the roof's air-conditioning vents.

Electronics were discovered stolen from a residence on East Clinton Avenue on March 16.


Phone cards were discovered stolen from E&M Grocery on Nassau Road March 15. Robbers gained entry by breaking a lock on a rear steel door.

A 1997 Toyota Corolla on Walton Avenue was stolen March 17.

Copper water pipes were stolen from under the crawl space of an Avenue B residence March 20.

Valley Stream

Five cases of beer were discovered stolen from Los Potrillos Deli on South Central Avenue on March 14. Entry was made through a pried-open rear door.

Two laptop computers, a digital camera, a cell phone, an iPod and luggage containing clothing were stolen from car parked in the Green Acres Mall parking lot March 14.

Precision BMW Motorcycles on East Merrick Road was broken into March 18. The rear steel door was pried open. The amount of loss was not immediately known.

Two tires and rims were stolen from a 1995 Ford Mustang parked on Montauk Street March 20.

West Hempstead

A laptop computer was discovered stolen from a car parked on Garden Place March 14.

A West Hempstead home on Woodfield Road was burglarized March 18. Robbers gained entry to the residence through a pet door and stole jewelry, a safe, a camera and collector coins.


A GPS unit was discovered stolen from a unlocked 2006 Toyota parked on Lace Lane March 19.

A Toyota vehicle parked on Washington Avenue was damaged by an unknown person with a baseball bat March 19.

The rear passenger-side window of a vehicle parked on Butler Street was discovered damaged March 19.



The hood of a vehicle on Duane Lane was discovered damaged March 14.

East Farmingdale

The passenger side window of a vehicle parked in the LA Fitness lot on Broadhollow Road was smashed March 14. A handbag was stolen from inside the vehicle and later recovered in a Dumpster at a nearby Wendy's restaurant. Cash was missing from the handbag.

East Garden City

A pocketbook containing credit cards was stolen from a shopping cart on Stewart Avenue March 20.

East Meadow

Jewelry was stolen from a Fairview Avenue residence March 16. A rear window was smashed to gain entry.

Glen Cove

A 40-year-old man was arrested on March 16 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

A 59-year-old man was arrested March 18 on Tappanwood Drive and charged with menacing.


A Dix Hills man, 27, was arrested March 19 on East Chestnut Street and charged with two counts of burglary, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. He was allegedly observed running from the rear of a strip mall on Sunrise Highway. Police stopped him as he entered his vehicle and he had a black bag containing bolt cutters and a crowbar.


A 1991 Honda was stolen from the intersection of Hewlett Avenue and Sunrise Highway March 15.


An unknown man stole an undetermined amount of money from a TD Bank on Old Country Road March 20. The suspect entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller.


A digital camera and makeup kit were discovered stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Lufberry Avenue March 18.

A black handbag and textbooks were stolen from a vehicle parked on Trellis Lane March 19.

A rear tailgate was discovered stolen from a 2010 Ford pickup truck parked at Hassett Ford-Lincoln-Mercury on Sunrise Highway on March 20.
