The front door of a Milburn Avenue residence was smashed Dec. 14, and jewelry and a PlayStation game console were stolen.

Tool Rentals Inc. on Merrick Road was burglarized Dec. 14. Cash was stolen.


The door of a basement apartment on Dutch Broadway was discovered pried open Dec. 13. A jewelry box and its contents and a digital video camera were stolen.

Approximately $1,200 worth of over-the-counter medications were stolen from Duane Reade on Hempstead Turnpike Dec. 13. An unknown male suspect was observed in a white Jeep Cherokee without license plates.

A 73-year-old female pedestrian was robbed and assaulted at Dutch Broadway and Crystal Street Dec. 17. The woman was pushed to the ground by an unknown man who stole her pocketbook, $56 and house keys, police said.

A pedestrian on 237th Street was robbed of a cell phone Dec. 14.

Franklin Square

A pedestrian was robbed of a cell phone at Lexington Avenue and Lloyd Street on Dec. 18. The alleged male suspect was between 17 and 19 years old and implied he had a weapon, police said.

Long Beach

A 54-year-old Island Park man was arrested Dec. 16 on West Olive Street on charges that included kidnapping, rape, aggravated sexual abuse, assault and robbery.


A Buckingham Place residence was burglarized Dec. 14. The home's rear door was broken to gain entry, and jewelry, a TV, clothing and toys were stolen.

North Valley Stream

Rear tail lights from a 2007 Cadillac Escalade on Alden Avenue were discovered stolen Dec. 14.

Rockville Centre

A Roosevelt man, 20, was arrested Dec. 16 on Lindell Boulevard for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.


Jay's Hardware on Nassau Road was discovered burglarized Dec. 14, and cash was stolen.

JR Food Center on Nassau Road was discovered burglarized Dec. 16. Robbers gained entry through an air-conditioning unit and stole cigarettes and cash.

A 1996 Isuzu truck was discovered stolen from Babylon Turnpike on Dec. 17.


A residence on Argyle Avenue was discovered burglarized Dec. 14. Entry was made through a rear basement door, and copper piping was stolen.

A Nassau Road residence was discovered burglarized Dec. 15. Clothing was cut up and a diamond cross pendant and chain were stolen.

A robber gained entry to a Southern Parkway residence through an air-conditioning unit Dec. 18 and stole a watch.

Valley Stream

A 2001 Honda Accord was stolen from the Macy's parking lot at the Green Acres Mall on Dec. 17.

An attempted burglary occurred at an occupied home on Brentwood Lane on Dec. 18. A male resident heard banging on his front door and got out of bed to investigate. He saw two men with flashlights in his home. The suspects fled when they saw the victim. Possible suspects are being investigated, police said.

Three pairs of sneakers and a pocketbook were stolen Dec. 19 from a 2002 Ford Explorer in the Walmart parking lot at the Green Acres Mall.

A 27-inch TV was stolen from a 2001 Ford sedan on West Sunrise Highway on Dec. 14.

Crown Fried Chicken on Nassau Road was burglarized Dec. 13, and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.

West Hempstead

A side steel door was pried open at a residence on Carol Street on Dec. 17, and jewelry, a TV and 42 Susan B. Anthony dollar coins were stolen.

A GPS navigation unit was discovered stolen from a 2007 Honda Odyssey on Palm Lane on Dec. 14.



A Coach wallet was stolen from a handbag at Joseph Christopher for Wellness and Beauty on Merrick Road on Dec. 16.

East Meadow

A business on Bellmore Road was burglarized Dec. 15. A cash register with an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

A Franklin Avenue residence was burglarized Dec. 16. Cash, an air-pellet gun, a laptop and an Xbox game console were stolen.


A woman's pocketbook was stolen Dec. 16 from a shopping cart while she was unloading packages into her car in the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot on Sunrise Highway.

Massapequa Park

Money and a pocketbook were discovered stolen Dec. 17 from two vehicles parked on Park Lane.


China Gardens on Merrick Road was discovered burglarized Dec. 14 and $200 from the cash register was stolen.


The American Broadcast Employees Federal Credit Union building on Wantagh Avenue was discovered marked with graffiti Dec. 14.
