St. Mark's Episcopal Church was discovered burglarized Feb. 12. Entry was made through a basement window. An empty lock box was damaged, but no loss was reported.

A Merrick man, 19, was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with criminal possession of stolen property and a controlled substance. Police responded to a call about a suspicious person with a silver handgun sitting in a black Mercedes in the parking lot of Fresh Direct on Merrick Road. A search allegedly revealed the defendant had a gun as well as 70 Xanax pills.

A Wantagh man, 27, was arrested for allegedly burglarizing Miracle Maids on Bellmore Avenue on Feb. 12. A witness alerted police after seeing the defendant enter and exit the business through a rear window after breaking the screen, police said.


The windshield of a motor vehicle was damaged while parked on West Old Country Road on Feb. 8.

A motor vehicle was discovered stolen from West John Street on Feb. 10.


The fire department responded to two small fires Feb. 13 at Walmart's loading dock at the Sunrise Mall. No damage was reported.

The Hat Zone in the Sunrise Mall was discovered burglarized Feb. 9. The kiosk's exterior canvas cover had been slashed and 284 baseball caps were stolen.

Two males, 18 and 17, of Freeport and Baldwin, were arrested Feb. 9 after their vehicle was stopped at Sunrise Highway and Forest Avenue for traffic violations. After a police search, marijuana, drug-related paraphernalia and counterfeit $20 bills were allegedly found in the vehicle.

Massapequa Park

A 2009 Cadillac DeVille DHS was stolen Feb. 8 from a Long Island Rail Road lot at Roosevelt Avenue and Front Street.


A house on Central Parkway was discovered damaged by thrown eggs Feb. 9.

North Massapequa

A 20-inch Corruption BMX bike was stolen from Waldbaum's on Hicksville Road Feb. 9.

Three vehicles on Hunter Ridge Road were discovered burglarized Feb. 11. Items stolen included global positioning system units, a cell phone and an iPod.


Money was stolen from a safe at Pennock Floral on Feb. 13.

A Sony handicam was stolen from a residence on Colgate Drive on Feb. 9.

The window of a residence on Ridge Drive was damaged Feb. 13.


Jewelry was stolen from a Marlboro Road residence Feb. 9.

A laptop computer was stolen on Old Country Road on Feb. 11.

Three computers were stolen from a residence on Hillary Lane on Feb. 9.

Jewelry was stolen from a residence on Audrey Road on Feb. 9.



A computer was stolen from a vehicle in The Home Depot parking lot Feb. 9.

A vehicle was scratched while parked on Elmtree Lane on Feb. 13.


A man kicked the side glass panel of a bus causing it to break while at Davison Avenue and Long Beach Road on Feb. 8.

Two unknown suspects presented false prescriptions for Oxycodone at the Walgreens pharmacy on Long Beach Road on Feb. 9.

License plates were stolen Feb. 9 from a 2002 Lexus parked on Roxbury Avenue.


Money and prepaid phone cards were discovered stolen Feb. 7 from the Nassau Fish Market on Nassau Road.

Kitchen appliances and electronics were stolen from a residence on Grenada Avenue Feb. 8. Entry to the home was made by pushing in a window air-conditioner.

The Church of God Prophecy on Mansfield Avenue was burglarized Feb. 11.

The Church of Christ on Woods Avenue was burglarized Feb. 11.


A laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle parked on Hempstead Turnpike on Feb. 8.

A 2002 Infiniti was stolen from Nassau Road and Harrison Street on Feb. 8.

Flat-screen televisions and money were discovered stolen Feb. 9 from the Pupuseria Carmelina restaurant on Jerusalem Avenue.
