A residence on Lancaster Avenue was burglarized Jan. 12. The rear door was kicked in. Money and jewelry were stolen.


A 1999 Toyota Camry was stolen from Lucille Avenue Jan. 13.

A residence on Hill Avenue was burglarized Jan. 16. Entry was made through the basement door. A laptop was stolen.

Franklin Square

A residence on Hancock Avenue was burglarized Jan. 13. Entry was made through a broken rear window. Jewelry and a watch valued at $500 were stolen.

A woman, 43, was robbed on Franklin Avenue Jan. 16. Her pocketbook containing a cell phone, credit cards and $1,500 were stolen.


An Amityville youth, 17, was arrested on Sunrise Highway Jan. 14 for charges that included reckless driving and endangering the welfare of a child.


A Roosevelt youth, 17, was arrested Jan. 13 at First District Court and charged with possession of stolen property.

New Hyde Park

On Jan. 12, $200 was stolen from a wallet in a locked locker at LA Fitness on Marcus Avenue.

On Jan. 16, a man followed two 12-year-old girls on Lakeville Road. The victims stopped at a house where the homeowner called police. The man is described as thin, bald and between 50 and 60 years old.


A 1998 Honda Civic was stolen from Pennywood Avenue Jan. 14.

A 1991 Toyota Camry was stolen from Elysian Terrace Jan. 16.

South Hempstead

A 1995 Acura was stolen from Christie Street Jan. 9.


A robbery occurred Jan. 10 on Lenox Avenue. Two male suspects, one armed with a handgun, are accused of forcibly removing a woman's pocketbook from her arm.

West Hempstead

A Owasco Road residence was burglarized Jan. 14. Entry was made through a rear window. A TV, two cell phones, an Ipod, a wallet, an Xbox video game system and a laptop were stolen.

A basement apartment on Langdon Boulevard was burglarized Jan. 14. Entry was made through an open side window. Jewelry was stolen.

Four rims and tires were stolen from a 2010 Toyota on Park Avenue Jan. 14.

A residence on Hampton Road in Lakeview was burglarized Jan. 15. Entry was made through a broken side window. A TV and a Wii video game system were among the items stolen.


A house on Mist Lane was burglarized Jan. 16. An iPod, Xbox games, coins and $55 were stolen.

A woman on Post Avenue was assaulted and robbed Jan. 12. Police said she was kicked and punched, and a diamond earring was stolen from her shirt pocket.

A 2009 Nissan Altima was stolen from Corporate Drive Jan. 14.

A female was robbed on Irving Street Jan. 16. An unknown male suspect displayed a gun and demanded her pocketbook, then jumped into the back of an automobile nearby and was driven away.

Two New Jersey women were arrested at Holiday Inn on Old Country Road for prostitution charges Jan. 15.



A Bellmore man, 27, was arrested on Hicks Street Jan. 11 after a traffic stop. He allegedly was in possession of 20 small envelopes containing heroin and methadone, and a hypodermic needle.

Three vehicles on Superior Road were discovered burglarized Jan. 13. Items stolen included a GPS and $10 in coins.

East Farmingdale

A burglary was reported Jan. 10 at the Twins Barber Shop on Broadhollow Road. A brick was used to break the front glass window of the shop to gain entry. Cash taped to the wall and mirrors were stolen. A 52-year-old man with no known address was later arrested and charged with third-degree burglary.

East Meadow

A residence on Rosalie Court was burglarized Jan. 14. Entry was made through an unlocked rear window. An antique coin collection and jewelry were stolen.


A Wyandanch youth, 16, was arrested Jan. 14 for an attempted burglary of a Libby Avenue residence. A woman inside the home screamed when she allegedly heard the suspect trying to enter through a window, and a neighbor detained him until police arrived. The possible arrest of a second youth is pending.


The rear door of a Kenneth Road residence was discovered pried open Jan. 12, and three laptops and jewelry were stolen.

North Massapequa

A Bethpage man, 22, was arrested Jan. 16 for allegedly stealing from vehicles on North Suffolk Avenue. Police found the defendant inside a 1997 Nissan Sentra when they responded to a 911 call regarding suspicious activity in the area. The man admitted to breaking into the vehicles for money, police said.


A Baldwin man, 26, was arrested Jan. 16 on Mandalay Beach Road. Charges included criminal impersonation and a warrant for urination in public.
