At its Oct. 28 meeting, the Islip Zoning Board of Appeals:

Brentwood: Granted Larry O. Stoddard, Jr. permission, with specific condition, to retain a detached garage, shed and 6-foot fence on property line with insufficient front and side yards and building separation, east side of Ferris Avenue, north of O'Rourke Street, through lot to Freeman Avenue.

Fire Island: Granted Nicole Gleitman permission, as amended, to build addition to deck and retain two sheds with insufficient rear, side and front yards, lot occupancy and floor area, west side of Ivy Avenue, north of Neptune Walk, Seaview.
