Nassau and Suffolk anniversaries

70thPEG AND BOB WILSON, residents of East Rockaway for 64 years, were wed May 23, 1943. They celebrated with their family at Filomena's restaurant in Franklin Square. Peg and Bob met at East Rockaway High School. Bob was a pilot during World War II and flew 53 missions. Peg worked at Grumman as a "Rosie the Riveter." They have three children and three grandchildren.

65thSARAH AND ALEX RASO of Wantagh were wed in Brooklyn on May 16, 1948 -- a day with heavy rain. Sarah believes that having rain on her wedding day has brought good fortune. She has retired from the Wantagh Library. Alex retired from his own business, though he enjoys helping out at his son's auto shop. They are both avid New York baseball fans. They have four children, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


STEFANIDIS of Oakdale and Boynton Beach, Fla., were wed April 26, 1953. They celebrated in Naples, Fla., with family. Peter is a retired steamfitter with Local 638. Carmela retired from DuPont Pharmaceuticals in Garden City. They have three daughters, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

55thJOAN AND RICHARD (DICK) DOSTER of Wantagh were wed May 24, 1958. Dick has been retired from NYNEX since 1991 and enjoys volunteering in the preserves with Joan. Dick is also busy helping at blood drives and is also president of the Sagamore Club in Bethpage. Dick was Senior Citizen of Nassau County in 2003. Joan is still bowling after 40 years, and is currently working at New York & Co. in

Hicksville. They have one daughter and three grandchildren.

40thNANCY AND MIKE LAGREGA of Bellport were wed Feb. 17, 1973, when they eloped. Nancy is a retired secretary from Patchogue-Medford school district. Mike is a retired mechanic foreman from Suffolk County Department of Public Works. They have two children and one granddaughter.

40thHELENA AND DON NUTTALL of Islip Terrace were wed May 27, 1973, at Colonial Church of Bayside in Queens. Helena is a retired paraprofessional for the East Islip school district. Don retired as an electric beam-welding engineer for Grumman in Bethpage, and from Eb Industries in Farmingdale. They have two children and two grandchildren.
