Dr. Dmitriy Vaysman of Commack has been named Physician of the Quarter by Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip based on his efforts and treatments that have helped a Massapequa baby with spinal muscular dystrophy, normally a terminal illness, sustain his life for the past five years. Vaysman, who was nominated by the boy's mother, Michele Erwin of Massapequa, has served as a physician at the medical center for the past seven years. He is also a fellow with the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
