Cold stable waters are likely to limit wind gusts, the National Weather Service said Tuesday in its marine forecast for Long Island.
The service's Upton office said the diminished wind conditions has allowed it to cancel a small craft advisory.
Reasonably calm waters are expected Tuesday and Wednesday, as a cold front settles south of Long Island.
High pressure moves in Thursday and lingers to Saturday, again allowing for sub small-craft advisory conditions, the service said.
Some 20 knot gusts are possible Friday and Saturday during the afternoon hours, the service said.
