Track work on the Long Island Rail Road’s Main Line will impact some travelers this weekend, LIRR officials said.

From 12:45 a.m. Saturday until 12:45 a.m. Monday, buses will replace trains between Ronkonkoma and Hicksville, as the LIRR performs work related to its Double Track project.

Westbound customers traveling to stations from Ronkonkoma through Pinelawn will board buses to Hicksville, where they can transfer to trains for points west. Buses will depart 44 minutes earlier than the usual train departure times, the agency announced.

Eastbound customers traveling to stations from Pinelawn through Ronkonkoma will board buses at Hicksville.

Customers boarding at Bethpage and Farmingdale stations will have normal train service in both directions all weekend, LIRR officials said. Customers could also avoid busing by traveling on the Babylon, Port Jefferson or Montauk lines.

The Double Track project is to construct a second track between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma by December, 2018.
