The Long Island Rail Road said service between Jamaica and Atlantic Terminal is on or close Friday afternoon after delays caused by a broken rail east of East New York.
The delays late Friday morning into the early afternoon were about 10 to 15 minutes long, the LIRR said.
Meanwhile, trains on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay branches were back on or close to schedule after being delayed by a broken crossing gate, the Long Island Rail Road said.
Delays of between 10 and 15 minutes started just after 6:30 a.m. when a broken crossing gate near the New Hyde Park Station began forcing trains to operate at reduced speeds, the railroad said in news alerts.
The service said the broken crossing gate was a result of a motor-vehicle accident near the New Hyde Park station.
