NORTH AMITYVILLE/Man stabbed during fight outside wedding celebration

A man was stabbed several times Saturday night during a fight that broke out outside a wedding celebration in North Amityville, Suffolk County police said yesterday.

Police said the fight occurred about 9:45 p.m. during the party on Steele Place. The man, 32, was stabbed four or five times around the corner on Coolidge Avenue, police said. It was not clear if he had been at the party.

The victim, who was not identified, was listed in stable condition at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said.

BALDWIN/Brooklyn man accused of filling forged prescriptions

A Brooklyn man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly repeatedly filled forged prescriptions at a Baldwin pharmacy over several weeks, Nassau County police said.

Police said that on June 19, Derrick Savage, 45, filled a prescription in his name for 90 Percocet pills at a Pathmark pharmacy at 1764 Grand Ave.

On July 5, Savage then filled two prescriptions, for Percocet, a pain reliever, and Phenergan, a sedative and anti-nausea drug, at the same pharmacy, police said. On Saturday, Savage presented another prescription for Percocet, police said. The pharmacist then called the police, who arrested Savage at the pharmacy.

Savage was charged with four counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument. At his arraignment yesterday at First District Court in Hempstead, Savage was ordered released on his own recognizance.

ALBERTSON/Police seek two men who burglarized cellphone store

Nassau police detectives are looking for two men who burglarized a cellphone store in Albertson on Saturday night.

According to police reports, two men wearing ski masks, gloves and dark clothing broke into Cellular Next, 175 IV Willets Road, about 9:55 p.m. They smashed a glass door and once inside repositioned security cameras out of view, police said. A third camera was able to capture images of a white Nissan Maxima with a model year between 1995 to 2000.

SOUTH HEMPSTEAD/Man sitting in parked vehicle robbed at gunpoint

A man sitting in his vehicle in South Hempstead was robbed at gunpoint early yesterday, Nassau County police said.

The man, 53, was parked in the rear lot of a restaurant at 1084 Grand Ave. at 2:50 a.m. when a man with a black handgun approached him, police said.

The man pointed the gun at the victim while demanding cash and property, police said.

The victim surrendered cash, a watch and a bracelet before fleeing the vehicle, police said.

The man was described as wearing a black bandanna that covered his face, and dark clothing, police said. Police ask anyone with information about this case to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
