Joseph Olivieri of Lindenhurst recalls the night out with friends when he met his future wife, Timea.

In October 2004, my friends and I were at Ice the Night Club in Farmingdale. We were a wild bunch, just out to have a good time. I was 26 and, though a romantic at heart, finding love was the furthest thing from my mind. Little did I realize that was all about to change.

I was on the dance floor when I suddenly noticed this beautiful girl dancing with her friend. I went over and started talking to her. Her name was Timea. I asked her to dance, and, to my cocky surprise, she wanted nothing to do with me. I continued trying, but it wasn't until her friend started dancing with my buddy that she finally agreed to a dance with me.

Later, when she asked if I wanted to go outside for some air, I quickly said yes. We spent the time talking. She was 23 and had emigrated from Hungary to the United States in 2002.

I asked for her telephone number and was taken aback when she said her area code was 732. I had assumed she lived on Long Island, but she said she was from Little Silver, N.J.! She often came up to visit her friend, also from Hungary, who lived in Bay Shore.

We made plans to meet at the club the following weekend, then the next and continued dating on weekends. I remember making two trips to New Jersey. The two-hour drive turned into four hours coming home at night, not because of traffic but because I wanted to look cool to her and didn't bring my glasses. I got lost both times.

One weekend I brought Timea home to meet my family. They were taken with her and she with them. Three months later, I realized I wanted to be with her all the time and not just on weekends. I asked her to move to Long Island and live with me.

It didn't take long after she moved in before I realized how much I loved her. I couldn't imagine being with anyone else, so on Christmas Eve 2005, I proposed. We were married on Sept. 4, 2006, at Bella Verde in Edgewood. A year later we had a second ceremony in Hungary, where I met her wonderful family.

This year, on Jan. 29, we welcomed our daughter, Emma Lee, into the world. We have never known such happiness, and seeing my wife with our child makes me fall more in love with her every day. She is an amazing mother -- kind, loving and nurturing. I couldn't ask for a better woman to share my life with.

To my wife, Timea, I love you with all of my heart. You have given me more than any man deserves. Happy first Mother's Day! Emma and I are so lucky to have you in our lives.
