Monica Brooks' bucket list had three meaningful things on it -- go to a prom, visit the White House and travel to Hawaii.

She can now scratch the prom off the list after attending the second annual Royal Affair  Adult Prom Saturday night at the Clarion Hotel in Ronkonkoma.

Dressed in a sleeveless blue fringed dress, a tiara on her head and a corsage on her wrist, Brooks said she always regretted not going to her high school prom.

"Due to finances, I couldn't afford to go to the prom. I wanted to be a part of the celebration with my friends, but I didn't have the money for it," said Brooks, 55, of Garden City Park.

Saturday night she attended her prom with her husband of 22 years, Ruel Brooks, 62.

"Tonight is a dream come true for me," said Brooks. "My son, Joshua, just went to his [Mineola High School]  prom on Thursday night and here I am going to my prom tonight."

The event coordinator, Shanelle Myrick, who owns the company Kay York Affairs, said attending an adult prom is a great way to have a fun evening.

"You don't have to bring a girlfriend or boyfriend, husband or wife. You can come alone or with a friend and meet someone here at the prom," she said. "It's a lot of fun."

About 50 attendees danced to music that included Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack" and Teena Marie's "Square Biz," the event was an ideal date night for CJ Parker, 36, and his wife Dawn, 35, of  Rye Brook in Westchester County.

"We planned to go to Montauk Point and I Googled things to do," Dawn said. "The adult prom popped up so we decided to make a stop here and have a date night."
