Nassau and Suffolk anniversaries


GIOVANNIELLO of St. James were wed April 28, 1940. Dominick served in the U.S. Army during World War II. They live in a condominium community, where Dominick has been honorary mayor for more than 33 years. Mary was a volunteer aerobics instructor in the community for years. She is 94 years old and still cooks and does household chores. They have two sons, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


PALLADINO of Wantagh were wed April 29, 1962. Fifty years later, they renewed their vows at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Inwood, where they were first married. A family celebration followed with brunch at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach. The celebration is planned to continue on a weeklong cruise later this year with their two sons, their spouses and their two grandsons.

51stBETTY AND BILL PURSCHKE of Baiting Hollow, formerly of Floral Park, were wed April 29, 1961, at St. Mary's Church in Woodside. They celebrated their golden anniversary in 2011 with their three sons and eight grandchildren at Woodloch Pines Resort in Pennsylvania. Bill retired from General Motors Corp.


DIMARCO of Deer Park were wed Feb. 24, 1962, in Brooklyn. They celebrated at a party with family and friends. Nicholas and Diana were the proud owners of Stella D'Oro Bakeries for more than 25 years. They have been blessed with four children, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

40thRHONDA AND BARNEY GLICKMAN of Lynbrook were wed March 25, 1972. They celebrated with family in Florida, joining other members of their families. Rhonda is the vice president of sales for Richner Communications in Garden City. Barney is retired from UPS. They have two daughters and four grandsons who also live in Lynbrook.
