ALFANO were wed Sept. 8, 1962. They celebrated at Casa Rustica in Smithtown with their five children and seven grandchildren.

50thNORA AND TOM GOURLAY of West Babylon were wed Oct. 20, 1962, at St. Brendan's R.C. Church in Brooklyn. A family celebration was held at Water & Wine in Watchung, N.J. Tom is a retired New York City firefighter. Nora is a retired dietary aide. They have four children and 12 grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and playing golf.


KREUSCHER of Bohemia were wed Sept. 29, 1962, in Merrick. Gene retired as executive vice president with Yoo-Hoo, the chocolate drink maker, in Manhattan. Arlene is a homemaker. They have four children and 10 grandchildren.

50thELLEN AND JOHN BIRD of Woodbury were wed Nov. 3, 1962. They celebrated with a family dinner. John is a Navy veteran and was employed as a stationary engineer at Queensborough College for 32 years before his retirement. Ellen was employed as a medical assistant. They have four children and eight grandchildren.


WEINFURT of East Islip were wed Oct. 21, 1972, at St. Mary's Church in East Islip. They celebrated at Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun, Mexico. The couple are both retired from Allstate Insurance Co. They have two children.

35thJANE AND BOB MURPHY of Garden City were wed Oct. 15, 1977, at St. James Church in Seaford, followed by a reception at Gigi's in Westbury. They celebrated with family and friends. Bob has been with MetLife for 37 years. Jane retired from Verizon in 2008 after 25 years. They have two daughters.
