Nassau and Suffolk anniversaries, Jan. 5:

71stCONNIE AND LT. REGINALD BALLANTYNE, residents of Garden City for 47 years, were wed Dec. 23, 1942. Reg fought in Italy in the 34th Division. He has two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. Connie loved performing in musicals around the Island. Reg plays in the North Shore Pops Concert Band which performs all over Long Island. Connie sings with the Golden Voices in Glen Cove. They have six children, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

50thJOAN AND JOHN BUCHNERof West Bay Shore were wed Nov. 9, 1963. They celebrated with a party at Southward Ho Country Club in Bay Shore. John retired from the Nassau County Police Department. Joan retired as a medical assistant for the Plastic Surgery Group in Rockville Centre. They have three children and five grandchildren.


GUILIANO of Franklin Square were wed Sept. 7, 1963 in Brooklyn. To honor this special milestone they renewed their wedding vows and celebrated with a party, where they were joined by family and close friends. They enjoy trips to Atlantic City and spending time with family and friends. They have three children and five grandchildren.

45thJACQLYN AND RAYMOND SCHLEYof East Patchogue were wed Oct. 12, 1968, at Price Memorial AME Zion Church in Atlantic City. They celebrated with a day in Atlantic City. Jacqlyn is retired from the South Country school district. Raymond is retired from First Data in Melville. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.

30thLORRIE AND DON BARRETTof Manorville were wed Dec. 8, 1983, at Waimea Falls Park, Oahu, Hawaii. They plan to celebrate on a trip to Alaska. The couple are both retired federal workers and enjoy traveling. They have three children.
