60thELIZABETH AND THORNTON STONE of North Valley Stream were wed Aug. 16, 1952. They celebrated with family at their home. Thornton served twice in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46 and again from 1951-54 on reserve duty. Thornton was a salesman for Paul Stuart's in Manhattan. He is also an artist and was an avid art collector. Betty worked for 15 years as an assistant operations officer for National Bank of North America, which became Nat West Bank. Betty was also one of the earliest female presidents of the North America North Valley Stream Civic Association. They are longtime members of Grace United Methodist Church in Valley Stream and both participated in the choir for many years. They have four children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

50thMARY AND EDWARD SMITH of Franklin Square were wed July 7, 1962, at St. Sebastian's Church in Woodside. They celebrated with family at the New Hyde Park Inn on July 8. Ed is a retired New York City firefighter and Mary is retired from King Kullen. They have two daughters and six grandchildren.

50thMARGE AND TOM RIORDAN of North Merrick were wed Aug. 25, 1962, at the Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Ozone Park. They celebrated at a dinner with family and friends. Tom is active in the American Legion, is past-commander of the Nassau American Legion and a retired Nassau County park ranger and insurance broker. Marge is retired from Macy's. They have three children and 10 grandchildren.


TAURIELLO, formerly of Floral Park, now residing in Bethpage, were wed Aug. 11, 1962. They celebrated with family and friends on a New York City cruise. Frank retired from the hotel trade and Carol is a retired medical biller. They have three children and five grandchildren.

40thSUSAN AND JOHN JONES of Floral Park were wed Sept. 16, 1972. They celebrated with a cruise around Italy, Greece and Turkey. John retired a year ago from the New York City District Council of Carpenters. Susan works part-time in an elementary school and is a part-time college student. They have four children and one granddaughter.
