Nassau County anniversaries, March 24

65thJEAN AND JOSEPH LUCCA of Wantagh and Florida were wed Jan. 4, 1948, during a blizzard, at our Lady of Good Council Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn. They had a double wedding with Joe's twin sister Ann who married Joseph LaGrotta. They celebrated with a dinner at the Westbury Manor with family. Joseph retired from the New York City Police Department in 1975. He also served as sergeant in the 78th Infantry Division for three years in World War II taking the Remagen Bridge and was in the Battle of the Bulge. They have four children, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

50thANITA AND CHARLIE VEITH of Bellmore were wed Feb. 24, 1963. They celebrated last year with a trip to Oregon and Washington state. Charlie is a retired sales representative. Anita is a homemaker. They both like to travel. They have three children and five grandchildren.

50thKATHY AND MIKE HICKEY of Holbrook were wed Nov. 10, 1962. They celebrated with a Mass and renewal of vows at St. Joseph's Church in Ronkonkoma followed by a luncheon at the Irish Coffee Pub in Islip with family and friends. The celebration continued with a cruise to northern Europe. Mike retired from IBEW Local 25 in Hauppauge. Kathy retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Holtsville. They have six children and seven grandchildren.

45thCAROLYN AND PAUL CLARK of Lindenhurst were wed Feb. 24, 1968, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Lindenhurst. They celebrated on a cruise to the Mediterranean. Paul is a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired as a vice president for Bank of Smithtown. Carolyn is a retired registered nurse. They have three children and five grandchildren.

35thRENEE AND RUSSELL SMITH of Levittown met at York College in Jamaica, Queens, and were wed March 12, 1978, at Temple Torah of Little Neck. Renee works for Massapequa schools in special education. Russell works for the radiology department at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. A European trip is planned for May. They have two children and one grandson.
