Nassau County anniversaries, Sept. 29

65thMARIAN AND SAL LAGO of Elmont were wed Sept. 11, 1948, in Brooklyn. They celebrated with a dinner on the Nautical Mile in Freeport. Sal is a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran who served during World War II in England, France and Belgium. He is also a retired New York City teacher. Marian is a homemaker. They have four children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

61stFRANCENA AND RICHARD BRAITHWAITE of Jamaica, Queens, were wed on July 19, 1952, in the Bronx. They are both retired New York City school principals. Richard is a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. They have a son and a daughter.

60thEILEEN AND THOMAS O'GRADY of North Massapequa were wed Sept. 6, 1953, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in West New York, N.J. They met while they were working for Nabisco in New York City. Tom continued working for Nabisco and retired in 1990. Eileen, after raising their two daughters, returned to work and retired from the New York Telephone Co. in 1989. They will be celebrating this special occasion with their family at Woodloch Pines in Pennsylvania this fall. They have four grandchildren.

60thLORETTA AND LOUIS SAVINETTIof West Babylon were wed Sept. 12, 1953. They celebrated with a party at The Blue Lagoon Restaurant in West Babylon, hosted by their family. The couple have six children and 10 grandchildren.

50thJANICE AND HAL KNOPF of Oceanside were wed on July 7, 1963. The celebrated at the Sands in Atlantic Beach. Hal is the owner and broker of Hal Knopf Realty in Oceanside. Janice is a former teacher and real estate broker. They met at Brooklyn College. They have two children and two grandchildren.

30thLINDA AND OTTO VITILLOof West Babylon were wed Aug. 6, 1983, at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Selden. They celebrated with dinner hosted by their daughter and son-in-law. The celebration continued on a cruise to Bermuda. Otto is a retired federal worker. Linda is a retired high school teacher.
