A Nassau County police initiative designed to curb underage drinking and smoking led to four arrests Wednesday, the Fourth Precinct said.
Using an underage agent, police arrested four people on charges of making prohibited sales to a minor and unlawfully dealing with a child, according to a news release. Police said the initiative is called Project 21.
The arrests include:
Xuemei Yu, 49, of 105-02 37th Ave., Corona, for allegedly selling alcohol to a minor at John Q Wine & Liquor, 1743 Peninsula Blvd., in Hewlett.
Mohammad Adam, 66, of 87-05 164th St., Jamaica, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor at Pick Wick, 570 Peninsula Blvd., Cedarhurst.
Yu, Unver and Adam are charged with selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor and unlawfully dealing with a child. Pena is charged with unlawfully dealing with a child.
Each was released on an appearance ticket and is due back Aug. 29 in First District Court in Hempstead.
