Police: Acquaintances rob woman after offering her ride home from Jones Beach

A woman and two men assaulted and robbed another woman as they were giving her a ride home from Jones Beach, Nassau County police said Thursday.

Alexa Richter, 18, of 79 Hollyhock Rd., Levittown, Kevin Marriot, 19, of 56 Kuhl Ave., Hicksville, and Bob Tatem, 22, of 51 Acorn Lane, Levittown, face second-degree robbery charges after they took $200 and a bank debit card from a woman, 18, during a Saturday ride from the beach to Levittown, police said.

Richter was arraigned Monday and is being held on $5,000 cash bail, $2,500 bond. She is scheduled to return to court on July 27.

Marriot and Tatem are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said the victim accepted a ride home from Jones Beach from "three acquaintances." During the ride the three asked the victim for money and then stopped their vehicle on Loring Road in Levittown at about 5:55 p.m.

When the victim refused to give them money, the suspects began punching her in the head and face, police said.

The victim then bruised her right arm and ribs and broke her right foot when she tried to get out of the car, as the driver moved it a few feet, police said.

Two witnesses who saw the assault then assisted the victim, who was treated and released from Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, police said.
