Amityville man had 41 guns in his home, police say

An Amityville man allegedly found with 41 guns in his home - including assault and military weapons, shotguns, rifles and "high-capacity magazines" - has been arrested on a felony weapon possession charge, State Police said.

Troopers in the Gun Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at 1 Farragut Pl., where they also arrested Ding H. Sang, 40, on the weapon charge, police said.

Sang, who could not be immediately reached for comment, paid the $30,000 bail on Dec. 12, the day after his arrest, according to court records.

Police said in a statement that Sang had 27 "assault/military weapons," five shotguns, nine rifles, "long-arm ammunition and high-capacity magazines."

Sang's attorney, Robert Del Grosso of Mineola, declined to comment except to say that his client has pleaded not guilty.

Dang is due back in court Feb. 22, records show.
