A 20-year-old St. Albans, Queens, man was arrested Friday after an incident at a bar in Rockville Centre and charged with possession of a handgun, police said.

Andrew J. Howard, of 188-17 Dunkirk Dr., was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon after a loaded .38-caliber revolver was recovered from the front passenger seat of his car, Rockville Centre police said.

That followed an incident that began at Croxley's Ale House on South Park Avenue at 1:10 a.m., Nassau police said.

Police said that officers responding to a disturbance call were told that Howard had been asked to leave the bar -- and made "gestures" to a bartender that "he may have a gun." Officers then located Howard in his 2006 Infiniti, driving the wrong direction in a parking lot behind the bar, police said.

Howard fled the vehicle, but was located and arrested a short distance away, police said.

The gun was found on the front passenger seat.

Police said there were no reported injuries.

Howard faces arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
