Nassau County police Wednesday identified the suspect in the shooting death of a Freeport man.

Homicide Squad detectives are looking for Autrey Smith, 21, who allegedly fired several rounds from a semi-automatic pistol into a crowd at a house party early Sunday, shooting Lyreek Crawley, 21, in the head at a house on Colonial Avenue in Freeport.

Autrey, also known as Autrey Watson and Pluto, fled the scene possibly in a champagne-colored Toyota Camry, traveling west on Colonial Avenue toward Main Street, police said in a news release.

A Nassau police ambulance medical technician pronounced Crawley dead at the scene at 1:14 a.m., police said.

The gun used has not been recovered, police said.

Police said Smith's last known address is 117 Debevoise Ave., Roosevelt.

In a Newsday story Monday, Det. Lt. John Azzata, commanding officer of Nassau's Homicide Squad, said the shooting was not a random act. He said the shooter and the victim were among about 20 guests at the party, which was organized through social media, but it was unclear whether the two knew each other.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477 or the Homicide Squad at 516-573-7788. All information will be kept confidential.
