Freeport’s annual Nautical Mile and Blues Festival is to be held on Saturday, village officials said.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along the village’s Nautical Mile. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at noon at Woodcleft Avenue and Front Street.
The festival is to include children’s rides, games, street vendors and food along Woodcleft Avenue, officials said. Musicians will play at the Esplanade and Sea Breeze Park from noon to 7 p.m.
“Every year, thousands of visitors come to the Nautical Mile and our festival is the highlight that launches Freeport’s boating and restaurant season,” Mayor Robert Kennedy said in a news release.
The festival is free and participants should bring lawn chairs or blankets for the musical performances.
