The driver of a black BMW was injured Saturday morning after striking a tree on Oak Street in Westbury, Nassau police said.

The accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. on the 1800 block of Oak Street, leaving parts of the car strewn across the roadway.

The driver, who was not identified by police, was the only occupant.

The driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said. No other information was immediately available about the driver's condition.
