Nassau police announce driving, parking restrictions for wake, funeral of NYPD Officer Brian Moore

Nassau County police said motorists area should prepare for driving and parking restrictions, road closures and traffic delays due to the wake Thursday in Bethpage and funeral Friday in Seaford for slain NYPD Officer Brian Moore, a 25-year-old Massapequa native.

The following is a list of expected parking limitations:

* No parking from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday on Stewart Avenue and Hicksville Road, from Hempstead Turnpike to the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway, and on Friday, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., in addition to Union Avenue and Seamans Neck Road.

* Stewart Avenue from Hempstead Turnpike to Boundary Avenue will be closed from noon to 10 p.m. Thursday.

* Stewart Avenue and Hicksville Road from Hempstead Turnpike to the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway, Union Avenue and Seamans Neck Road from Hicksville Road to Cordwood Lane will be closed Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The following is a list of expected road closures:

* Stewart Avenue from Hempstead Turnpike to Boundary Avenue will be closed Thursday from noon to 10 p.m.

* Stewart Avenue and Hicksville Road from Hempstead Turnpike to the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway, Union Avenue and Seamans Neck Road from Hicksville Road to Cordwood Lane will be closed Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Nassau police advise that motorists should expect delays and periodic closures on area roads on both days.
