An early morning fire destroyed a car parked on a street in Roosevelt on Friday.

Nassau County police said a 911 call reporting a car fire near Meyer Street and East Greenwich Avenue was received at 12:55 a.m.

The Roosevelt Fire Department responded to the scene to find the car, a Nissan Altima, ablaze. Photos from the scene show firefighters dousing the car as flames leap into the night sky. Police said no one was injured.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

But police said there was no apparently criminality and detectives are not investigating.
