Carle Place school district

6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Carle Place High School-North cafeteria.

The district proposes a $47,660,182 budget for 2015-16, a 1.08 percent decrease from the current $48,180,796. The local tax levy will remain at $42,323,209. This is within the state's tax-cap limit of 0.95 percent, so a simple majority is required to approve the budget. The district did not have all the data from Nassau County to accurately calculate the school taxes paid on a single-family home under the 2015-16 budget. The budget funds a contractual salary increase for teachers at 0.5 percent and an average step of 0.9 percent. If approved, the budget provides for an elementary library media specialist and another full-time employee to address new ESL regulations.

Incumbents Anthony Bulzomi and Joseph LoCurto are running unopposed. Terms are three years.
